On to Marshmallow Manor...

This year for Christmas, I received several gift certificates for the craft store..... Most of it went to supplies, but while I was there one day..... I seen this- for 50% off! I just couldn't pass it up! Marshmallow Manor is now kitty-proof! ((Well, they still think they need to sit on it, but I put the basket that holds our remotes up there, and now there is no room for a kitty butt! ))

I took a picture of it before I set everything back up....and as we can see there are a few things knocked over in the next pic....

I think I finally have the bones for this house together..... We'll start in the living room:) I still need to figure out what to hang on the walls. They look naked to me. I'd also like to make a fire inside the fireplace. Looks like it could use a rug too. Sorry, I'm more or less making that final mental list of what I need to do to get it all done. However.... I kinda like this collecting thing, and I like when you find that one little special piece you've been looking for!

This is the little house where the Grandparents live... So I try and keep that in mind when picking things out for it. When I was little, my family and I lived in Wales and we'd take the train into London every now and then. One of my Mom's favorite places to shop was Harrods.... so naturally when I found the Harrod's jug I knew I had to have it!! On top of the kitchen sink (from left to right) is one of Nikki's little pumpkin container's -I was so happy to finally be able to order something from her! Next is a clock that came with one of the furniture sets from Calico Critters. We had several clocks like this growing up, and if you put 2 of them in the same room, they'd stop working- then if you'd pick one up and walk out of the room with it, they'd both start ticking again. When we moved to America, they just stopped working all together! Very Strange!! Mom still has these clocks, and to this day, they've never ticked again! The 2 little pots next in line came from one of those sets, too. I just repainted everything and then added strawberry nail stickers. Last is a little jug that I made using a bead and one of Marlie's tutorials. On the right of the picture there is a hutch..... One that looks just like the one my Mom has owned forever!!

.... Although she has a mirror on the front of hers, and I have a mirror on the inside of mine....
Growing up it was our movie cabinet that had cinder block shelves! lol.... Now hers is filled with paper towels and aluminium foil~ my step-dad is a cook, so everything is industrial size around there, lol! So when it came to filling mine, I decided to fill it with the family's extra dishes..... Instead of cinder block I used my son's Legos:) Worked perfectly! Now that I'm looking at the hutch maybe I can use that metal bar at the top as a foil dispenser?? ...seems you can always find just one more thing to add, huh!

I've got the family's root veggies in the bottom drawer... Can't make a house for bunnies without carrots, now can ya?

.... a shot from afar....

And then another shot with the table and branch back in place. There's more of Momma's jugs on the table. Along with some of my real yellow candles. I'm thinking those need some kind of little plate to sit on?!

....oops... I forgot to take a picture of the upstairs, although it's no different the the last time.... I'm still waiting on my Mother to make a quilt, don't worry, I remind her weekly:) And I need to find a rug. Other than little accessories here and there, I do believe it's almost done:) Woo-who!

Until Next Time.......

what a great find Katie- the house fits perfectly in there- too bad you can't find one to fit all of your houses and make them Otis proof! I love the little hutch- and the carrots- you are too clever girl!
