You asked For Pictures...

You Got it!! LOL!! When I was at the thrift store yesterday, I bought a bag of 'Potpourri' for 75 cents! I'm going to work backwards here...hope I don't confuse anyone!!

I made my very first fairy chair last night. I found this 'seed pod' thing that curled around, and as soon as I saw it, I saw a chair. I stuffed the pod with Styrofoam, then covered that with moss......Even added a 'pillow'. The table base is another seed thing. Looks like a dried up avocado seed or something?? I made the table top from a dried orange slice. I still think the chair needs a little more character, but I don't want to over do it!

Next is a side view, I stuffed a little moss into a hole that was there. Here you can see where those seeds used to live. And this thing is hard, like tree trunk hard, wish I knew what in the world it was....it's neat!

And a back view.....I took the moss all the way around.

And a size reference picture........

Next is a picture of all kinds of weird things that were in the bag...This has to be the strangest bag of potpourri I've ever bought. I would like to say the most of them seem to be some kind of casing for seeds, if you shake them, they make noise!!

Here's a peek into the bag! There's cinnamon sticks, mini corn cobs,............and well, other than the orange peels, I really have No clue what the rest of it is, Hahaha!!

I also bought of bag of coasters for 99 cents. I wanted to pry of the wood pieces and use them around Marshmallow Manor. However, there not really coming off that easy....I'll have to try throwing them in the microwave for a minute and see what happens.

And as promised, here is a picture of the Lego's that Sans sent. Drew and Cameron had a lot of fun building and then rebuilding these little kits, Thanks again Sans!!!

And for all you Otis fans out there....This is another reason this cat is still here, He keeps me laughing!!! He's such a dork!!! We were sitting on the couch and happened to look down and see that Otis had curled up in a shopping bag, and was using it like a sleeping bag. He has his head through on of the handles!! ***Attention, I don't suggest leaving your cat in a bag, but under close supervision, it's OK, to laugh your head off!!!

I'm changing my Name!!

LOL..Not my real name, but the name that I use to comment with on every ones blogs.....It will just come up as Katie now, instead of Katie's Clay Corner....I want to be able to comment from 'Let's Make Lemonade', but don't like that it comes up as Katie's Clay Corner...so I changed it:)

Also, I have lots of comments to catch up on, I am so bad about hoping from blog to blog without saying something..... from Doreen's geese to the temple that Sans built....I'm so behind.

And While I thinking of it.....I got a package from Sans Yesterday! She was so kind and sent my boys some Lego sets! I will have pictures later! Promise! She also sent me a grown up toy for the bf's room. If you go over and have a look at her blog, I just say that it's one of her shiny things!!! LOL, I told the kids they couldn't see it, cause it's a 'grown up toy', LOL...I can only imagine what they think is in the box:) Thank You so much Susan!!!!!!

Also have to figure out how to send an international money order cheaper than Western Union. I really need to get a PayPal account, it would make mine and everyone else's life a lot easier!!! One day ladies, I will get it together!!!

Oh....and I had to run to the thrift store earlier to buy spoons.....I think my kids have thrown all mine away. Does this happen in your home, too?? Or Is it just my house??? I understand that I will never be able to find another pair of scissors, or the tape, or a pencil again...but my spoons??? Who's pulling my chain here??? Anyways, while I was out on the hunt for spoons, I found some good junk at the thrift store, too. Again....no pictures right now, I'm too lazy to get it all together, But I promise, soon........

Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday!!

Movie suggestions...

I watched The Borrowers
last night and got a bunch of really cute ideas......a thimble for a cooking pot, dominoes for stairs, a birthday candle to be used as a light...pencil chairs....game pieces for plates.....

The other movie I suggest watching is The TinkerBell Movie! First it's sooo darn cute not to see, but I love the tools and stuff that they use. I also love the acorn teapots that they have!

Although I must admit...I'm not watching either today. I'm watching another one of my favorites.....The Transformers Movie!! I love the action, the humor......the music.....the characters.....LOL, Yes, I just love the whole movie. The kids laugh at me, cause some times I watch it back to back.......
Actually, this has been the only movie, I have actually gone to the theater to see in the last few years. Cora was so mad that day cause we were going to see a 'boy movie', lol, but I think she ended up loving it as much as I did! The second one comes out at the end of June.....I hope it's as good as the first one!

Fairy links...

I've been looking for inspiration for the house and thought I'd share some of the websites I've come across:

First we have:
http://www.fairywoodland.com/index.php
Be sure to look at the pictures, and the 'go shopping' area...lots of eye candy! I really love the shell mailbox!!

Then there's :
http://www.twigwizardry.com/index.php
Love the beds in here!!

I also found this blog with lots of fairy eye-candy, Jewelry, miniatures, dolls....
http://fairy-ish.blogspot.com/

OK...that's about it for now....I'm going to lie down with all these new ideas I have.....

Getting a little ahead of myself here...

LOL....My mind is somewhere else today....But I wanted to drop off these pictures and get some ideas from ya'll. I've been looking at the houses on http://thefantasyforest.blogspot.com/ and have fallen in love with the way the houses have real people sized flowers....Like the house is hidden in the garden! I just love that....So I put my thinking cap on and have decided to use some real sized berries to decorate Marshmallow Manor with. Even came across a fern. Not sure how I want to do this but I like where I think I'm going with this! I'm also going to need lots of Ivy!! Is there any other summer flowering plants that would go good with berries, Ivy and a fern?

I also picked up one of the furniture kits from Michael's.....at $4.99 a set!! There's so many pieces in here, it's crazy, but I more or less just wanted to have something to look at, as a size reference. The bf says everything in the house has to be handmade~ Like the Rabbits actually did it them self.....I think he is right! So, here's a bed from the kit.....the grandparents barely fit...but If I lie them on their sides, it works....

Then I started playing around with the living room and kitchen furniture. Just needed a idea of what I actually wanted, and what better way to do it then use 'stand-ins'!! I love that little sink on the back way. It even has a stove, cabinets, and a microwave? up top. I'm not going to use this one~ I know I can build a better one if I try..... it's more or less an idea. Oh...and the little green stools will Not stay green...You'll have to wait till I get done with them.....Cora had the best idea!!!

Once I got the couch built, it dawned on me that I had a couch and chair stashed away that are about the same size. I've had these for as long as I can remember....They're probably one of my oldest toys around here.....They're stamped with 1980 Mattel on the bottom. I really hate to paint them, because I've had them this way for so long...But If I want to use them in this house...they're going to need a new coat of paint. Someone suggested to me last night that I paint them with like a strawberry....thought that was a cute idea. Like I always say...time will tell.

I like this table the best, but it seems a little too big.... I want to make one from wood that looks like this and another small one to use as the coffee table. I'll have to go find pictures of what I'm talking about....
I went to sleep last night with my head hurting from all the ideas I got! LOL....First I HAVE to finish the outside......then I can start the inside.
I must say that life is starting to get a little complicated over here! Thank God I have this hobby to keep my head on straight! I'd so much rather be in the land of make-believe than in the land of the real world!!!! OK....I'm off to blog about 'my other life'.
Talk to you later :)

Marshmallow Manor gets it's first visitor!

Just when I was beginning to think that this house was too small for Otis to mess with, he showed me otherwise!!! LOL......Look close, you can see his head in the bay window, He's actually chewing on it!!!

LOL....Thought I'd show you that Otis is as big as the house is......If he was sitting up straight you wouldn't even see the house!!

I've gotten a lot of work done on it this weekend. The whole house got a coat of Joint Compound, then a coat of Ivory paint, although if you ask me, it looks yellow, not ivory!

Those white things above the windows will get roof tiles......It just Styrofoam, coated with Joint Compound.

And I started the inside....hahaha~ Otis came back and thought I was going to let him try and squeeze his head in here again.......

The red is too bright for my likings, so I'll probably give it a wash of brown or something.....Looks good with the wood floors, huh?!

OK...I'm off to think about how I want to paint the inside of the bay windows....

Until next time........

No more Marshmallows!! Woo-who!!

I told myself if it was the last darn thing I did today....I was finishing those Marshmallows!!! Honestly, I'm sick of looking at them, and bored. LOL.....it doesn't take much, Haha!

Haven't seen the strays today?? Casey.....if I do catch them, I planned on taking them to the humane society...I know I can't have any more...I just want to be able to have good homes, too....And that doesn't mean living under my house!!! Hahaha....Oh...and one day I will come back and share our opossum stories....Haha!! I tell ya, if it's not one thing it's another!!

OK...so on to the house!

Yesterday....I did a little marshmallowing.......glued on the window frames.......
And I got the Styrofoam glued in under the bay window.
And after I got bored with that....I did a little rock work under the window seat. I realized my seat it is a little crocked, and it bothers me...but I'm going to try and look past that! LOL...I'd like to do some more stone work in here, but have just ran out of paperclay, again!!!
Then, before I went to bed last night, I put 2 coats of light green paint in Cora's sitting room. I also glued tissue paper to the wall that's laying down, and painted that. Just wanted to give it some kind of interest! Still thinking it's going to need a couple more coats, but I really like the color.
And today..........Marshmallow Manor got off to a rough start...My oldest poured his whole bowl of cereal into the house, and I 'bout died!! So, now that the house has had a milk bath and dried....I can get on with finishing it!!! Kids!!!
If you can't tell......I'm DONE with the marshmallows!!!! Not sure what I'm doing next, but I just wanted to show ya'll that the house is getting a little closer to be done!!
