Putting it all together..

I've been playing with a few things I have around here.. And thought I'd show you what I came up with:)
I made a few more pillows for the bed and brought out a polymer clay puppy I made. The night stands were planters I made a few nights ago. They are real stone:) The picture above the bed is one I pulled out of Cora's house... It's of Jackson's Mill. I made the birdhouse and the Alice in Wonderland book. I even made the dress that Mrs. Bear is wearing! The bookcase I bought off line sometime ago- it's too small for 1/12 scale, but looks great with this scene. The roses I bought from our local dollhouse shop.

And the chair was a gift from a friend:) That post will soon follow!! I hope my friend doesn't mind that I borrowed her chair for the scene?!
I'm really happy with how everything came together.. Now I just need a room box for it:)

Until next time...

The Bee Bed

Sorry I stepped away again.. I've been busily working on a project, that I'm just Not gonna talk about, haha. But today I got all the big stuff finished.. N decided to give my head a break.. And just pull something random out and go from there. Well.. It all started with a bee:)

My best friend had given me several wood pieces.. And when I came across the bag today, it just all made sense. I had the material put away- it was one of those things you see at the fabric store, and just know you need a half a yard For some kind of project, someday:) And my Mom had picked these little beds up at a dollar store. They were too small for 1/12 scale, but work perfectly for Calico Critter scale:)
I still want to make some more pillows, but I think it's cute. And it gave my head a much needed break.
I gonna try and stop by here soon and fill you in on all the bs of life, but not today.. Today I'm just gonna create:)

Until next time:)

When there's a will.... There's a way!

I don't have "real tools", as the bf would call them.
And I'm ok with that...normally.
Don't get me wrong.... I am starting to get to the point of wanting something more than a hand saw and an exacto knife... But we all know how dangerous the power tools are in My hands...
However... this wood on this little house is a pain in the butt to cut..... So

I used a drill bit attachment in my Dremel as a jigsaw, so to speak.... and it did the trick. And I didn't hurt myself. lol
OK... So you see the new holes where the stairs are- this is where the two houses are going to join together to make one long house. All the cracks will get filled in so you'll never know the difference. And I went ahead and started building up the top floor. I want a box- so I'm using a piece of foam core board. After I get everything glued together- I'll go back and 'wrap' the outside in foam core too. Then I'll coat the outside in sand before it gets her grass hair:) But that's something I still gotta figure out.
Now that I've started this build, I'm having a hard time putting it down. This is usually my favorite part- the build.....It's the detail work that slows me down.

Until Next Time:)

It's Here! It's Here!

It's Finally Here:)
Ok... I must admit.... I've been stalking the mailbox daily...Waiting ever so patiently.... Waiting for our new home to arrive! I really lucked out on this one- Found it on Ebay, and was totally beside myself when I found out I won the bid! ..... Betcha this isn't what you had in mind when I told you a new house was coming, lol:)

And.... so...... Now the fun begins:) I think I like the planing part best. Right after I ordered it... I started doing research on all things Gypsy. I wrote out a long list from copper pans to a horse shoe.... and all the things in between. And then... I started making some of the things that I needed- for example all the teapots you see I made from polymer clay. (I will have to get better pictures so you can see the age on them.) But now that I have the 'Caravan'.... I'm starting to see that I need a new list.

I ordered it used- There are a few tiny pieces that have broken off and it's a little dusty.... But I love it all the same. I'm seeing a Bright Yellow wagon with green and red accents.....Inside I want wood... and Bright colors. We're gonna need a bed- I've thought about hanging one from the ceiling like a hammock?? And where's the faucet to the sink?

I love the trap door- storage container in the floor...And how the side of the wagon folds down into stairs...

This has got to be one of my favorite HOMES to date:)

I'm getting overwhelmed just thinking of what I could do...... Oh My... I think I need to go find that paper and start writing this stuff down...lol...

Until Next Time:)

A Good Place to read a Book:)

When my youngest came in earlier and told me there was mushrooms growing in the yard.... I had to check them out. And after realizing they were the perfect size for a photo op... I grabbed my camera and took a few shots:)

Can you guess what she's reading??

But of Course! Alice's Adventures in Wonderland:) LOL
Yes! These kinda of things make me happy:)

Sorry I haven't been around.... I've had a headache/migraine that has had a storm cloud hanging over my head for the last week. Yesterday was the first day I didn't have one, and it felt good to feel good. I did get some white benches built and painted.... And then I got sidetracked. We will just say I ordered a new 'home' for one of my critters. I got it on Ebay for a steal... and sure wish the mail man would hurry his butt up and bring it! But now It's all I can think about! I want to leave it a surprise... But I'll give you a hint. I've been making copper kettles and jars for days now. You know me, when I get that clay in my hand, I can't just make one. So I have an army of them now... In the process of being painted and aged. Once I get a set done, I will have pics:) But until then.... I'm watching the mailbox.

Until Next Time...

One Empty Box of Cat Litter...

That's all it took to entertain me today. LOL!

I was laying in the bed last night thinking of all the things I want to do, but can't afford... so then I started to think about the things I had around here that I could use instead.... And it hit me! The empty box of Cat Litter that I was getting ready to throw away......

So I took some foamcore board and cardboard and cut out all the walls. Then I went back and covered those walls with scrapbook paper.... Ok ok... so if I had had my choice I would of used different paper, but I was working with what I had on hand. Measuring everything out to make sure it fit right was the hardest thing... But All in All it is a really easy project!

I still have to cover the outside... but my brain is thinking bigger, and I've decided that I need an apartment complex, Hahaa..... You just wait- one day I will have a skyscraper.... Bah ha ha!

So.... let's talk about what's going on inside. I decided that this place was going to be a daycare- where the owner lives upstairs. Cora had this really cute set of babies that I wanted to use.... and I still had several Calico Critters' furniture sets to use up... SO I put 2 and 2 together.

The wood stuff came from Michael's... It needs to be painted and prettied up some:) But this area will be her bedroom.

And on the left is her living room.

....and one of my favorite parts?..... The fireplace lights up.....

Downstairs on the left is the kitchen.... Although I have since rearranged everything again. I can't figure out which way I want it.... But there's a mix of stuff in here. The pink chair is from a generic set I bought as a kid.... And the microwave and its stand came from Cora's set. The little green beds in the front came from either the Mapletown or Sylvanian sets from the 80s. So did the rabbit. The rest of the stuff came from recent furniture sets from Calico Critters.

But I have to admit..... The nursery is my favorite room!

I just love those little critters with those tiny pacy's in their mouths:) I'm sure If I keep looking around here I can find more stuff to put in here.... But for now.... I'm going to go day dream about cat litter, lol....
...until next time...

Watch out Otis! I'm getting smarter than you!

Yesterday.... A box of supplies arrived from HBS. Of course most of them are supplies for more birdhouses.... But I did order a few things for myself. A tub of wax and some blu-tac:) Naturally I got side tracked and started tacking things down in Marshmallow Manor. So I thought I'd show you what I've done. I finally tacked the stuff on the back of the counter down. The pumpkins came from Nikki's shop... and everything else I've added. Most of the things came with a Calico Critters sets, and I've repainted them and added strawberry nail stickers. The tiny pitcher on the end, and all the veggies I made some time ago.

I do believe the cake came from the Dollhouse Shop here in Ghent.

I stacked up the stools that go with the table to give Grandma and Grandpa more room to walk around. On the top of that is a bright red flower pot filled with apples.

I also spent some time upstairs. Everything has been tacked down.... including the carpets. I rubbed a little wax all the way around it to get all of it to stay down and it worked perfectly! I even found another tree stump to use as a foot stool.

Then this morning.... while I was cleaning.... I came across a jar of buttons and remembered I needed some candle holders for my yellow candles.

I still have tons of little things to make to go here and there.... But I like this part! I don't worry myself about it.... Those pieces will come with time.... You know... when you're out somewhere and you find that perfect piece for a house....

...now to see what I can 'glue' down next.....
until next time...

Thank-you! Thank-you!! Thank-you!!!

Ok...I just couldn't help myself....After reading about these houses on April's Blog: http://everylittlethingakw.blogspot.com/
this morning....I just had to run to Michael's and find one for the critters. I brought it home, and put it together....it's not glued yet, still haven't figure out how I want to do this one, but I'm excited!!! It was such a spur of the moment decision! ...And after using the 40% off coupon~ it only cost $4.79!!!

Ok Little house....

...do you want to be a school house.....

Or a bachelor pad for the 'big' brother??
Or do you want to be a cozy cottage in the forest???
Hmm??? Decisions, decisions!!!

So...What's in this cabinet??

LOL.....Lots and lots of junk.....and 2 helpers, haha!

Thought I dig out a couple of bags I made for Ana to see. The first one isn't finished, but you can see what I was talking about. I took a pair of size 24 month jeans, and cut off the legs. Then I sewed the bottom together. It still needs a lining and a handle...but it's a cute idea. (And I know there's a finished one around here...Cora must of hid it?)

Next is my favorite....until I realized that I sewed the handle on the wrong way! I used a tie I found at the Thrift Store as the handle and the inside is an old silver night gown I had. It's a little wonky, but I sewed the whole thing by hand.....took me forever!!! LOL

I just love the color of this material!!!

And a peek at the inside of the bag...and the tie.

While I was digging for the bags, I ran across a box filled with some of the things I have made....lol...I have lots of these kinds of boxes around here! I have this problem with not being able to make just one......the two gray lions are some of my favorites! The inspiration came from Christi Friesen, You can find her info here...She has some really amazing books!! http://www.cforiginals.net/

And here's some of the bigger faces I got carried away with....and a few bugs! These guys are much cuter in person. So...what does one do with all this stuff? I hate just stuffing it back in the cabinet! Maybe I could add some magnets to the back of them?
Oh...and here's the picture of the Grandparents that I promised a few days ago......They even come with eye glasses!

And for the final picture...We have Otis. This cat is always good for a laugh. Yesterday, I threw the bag from our lunch onto the floor for Otis to play in. He dove into it (Well~ he got his head and his front paws in there)....and then starting scratching at the back of the bag.......lol, and then he must of seen JD (Our black cat) creep by, because all of a sudden he tried to jump threw the bottom of the bag......and well......he got stuck, lol!!! He just couldn't seem to make it all the way threw!! Hahahaha~ He's such a dork!!

Look at What I found today!!!

While at the mall earlier, I wondered into the 'art' store to see if they had any new Calico Critters......And while they were out of them on the shelf, they actually had a few under the counter. I picked out the Cottontail family to go with the baby I bought a while ago...he's the one not in the box.....

...they also had a grandparent set that hopefully will be there the next time I go..... these guys are very addicting! And soooo cute!
