Someone got a new Dress...

Well, I couldn't have Miss Pig running around in her bikini.... So I made her a dress:) Besides, if you could of seen what her back looked like with the bikini on, You'd of laughed! The strings were to short to tie around her, so I used tiny bits of blue tape to attach it to her. It was a mess... but it worked:) If anyone would like for me to do a tutorial on the little dress, I can... it was really simple.

...and then you know how it goes, You can never make just one. Everyone decided they needed a dress, too. Actually, I made the yellow one first and even though I love a dress that hits the floor, I decided the next one should be a little shorter. So then I made the dress for Miss Pig. Then I started cheating. The purple dress is just material folded up and wrapped around, and held in place by a headpin... And the pink one is held together the same way. I did however make 2 pleats in the front of the pink one to give it a little more volume. I think they're happy.... for now.

I've also been working on bits and pieces for the Glass House. I sat last weekend and watched the new Alice in Wonderland movie again, and cut out printies that Ira had sent me so long ago. OK... so I am really bad about finishing things, but they do get done, one day! I even put poppy seeds in each pack to make it feel and sound like a real seed pack.

She also sent me the bulb packs... which now house seed beads:) Let's see.... I put the marble in the urn- not really liking the marble, but it will do for now- to me it's one of those big glass balls people put in their yard:) And then there's some new books. I bought them here. I put one behind the bulbs and the other two, because they're so colorful, are on the foot stool so the ladies have something to read. ...There's a metal wheelbarrow on the table- that's a monopoly piece. Oh, and I swapped out the panda for a polymer clay doll I made.

I will have better photos of everything when I figure out how I want it. LOL.. It changes daily.

So, Until Next Time...

I found a new spot...

...to take pictures:) We have a tree root that goes through our yard that the cats use as a scratching post. While I was out there yesterday I noticed the mossy spots... and then today I discovered the hole on the side. My birdhouses balance perfectly in there:)

These will be getting listed in the store over the next few days. I'm still having fun photographing them, lol.

Well... until I got up and my Spot got hijacked! But then again... it is His spot:)

I also got some time this morning to play in the Glass House. I've really gotta come up with a better name, huh. I've pulled in the side table from Cora's house.... shhh- don't tell her, lol.... and sanded it down to make it look a little older. I still need to go back and add some paint though to give it that special touch:) ...and if you look under the table you'll see one of my Favorite birdhouses... I've really got to get my butt in gear and make some more of these!

And I really want to find something that I can use to wrap around the back of this to give it an outdoor feel. Like an image of a field....or a forest? I was thinking I could use a piece of poster board for now... Just something so you don't see the wall behind it.

I love that little Hippo... And my stone pigs:)

I just ordered a few Garden books to lie about... and I'm gonna need a Lot of plants. I also need to build a shelf, and hang the one from Casey. Oh and my big birdhouse needs wheels on the bottom of that stand. I have them- just have to figure out what I did with them.

As Always... Thanks for looking:)

Until Next Time...

If you asked me last night....

I woulda told you I absolutely loved this "pottery paper clay"! (Remember I bought it a few weeks ago on clearance...) It is just like paper clay.... but with the texture and color of pottery when it dries..... This lion was my favorite.... I just love how it split down the nose.....

But some time between last night and this morning.... They've all broke apart. I'm thinking a certain orange fella had something to do with this.... but it was really upsetting to see everything chipped apart..... I even made a few planters... All but one survived. On the right of this picture.... You can see the molds I using.... They're full of clay right now.... Drying...... Hopefully these won't break. I'm thinking I can still do something with the broken ones..... Just have to think about it....

I also painted another column.... to replace the Bright white one that was in here before.

I started with several layers of red paint..... but after my first set of pictures, I realized it was too bright..... So I added a few layers of watered down brown, then black and brown... then added green to what was left of the wash and used that for the last layer. I like it a lot better now... And once I get one of my torso's one the wall, it will balance itself out:) I hope.

I found some more odds and ends to put in here.... Jody's peaches are on the end table... and her books are in the chair... I brought the tin birdhouse out (it's sitting on the stool) but there's No silver in this room, so I'm thinking it might go back in The Painted Lady. I'm trying to stick to a color scheme- and have been pulling my colors from the fabric in the chair. Lots of reds, coppers, oranges, yellows, and blues... The greens will be in all the plants that will one day get made....

I use this glass house as a book end to keep my bills from falling off my desk- And the other day I found one of my favorite pictures and had set it back here to remind myself to do something with it..... Any guesses as to who they are??

And if that freakin weatherman says it going to HOT one more time.... I'm going poke him in the eye.... DUH! We know it's freakin hot.....

....Until Next Time....

Playing around with space...

Between Carolyn's comment and what my bf had said to me... I put the chair in place and went from there. Please excuse the glare- I tried to use a book with a 'pretty' picture, but it is just too shinny- Note to self- Use a non shinny image as a background when photographing through glass.

With the exception of the wicker furniture and the garden caddy... I've made most of the items in here. The stand for the birdhouse in the back is one you haven't seen yet.... when I put the finishing touch on it, I will pull it out and take better pictures. I will say that crown molding trim on it was a pain to cut! The angel is listed in my Etsy shop... but I figured for now, I could show her off in here:)

I did remove a few items, and pulled somethings out of the bottom of Katie's Corner (which is currently a garden shop) to use in here. When I finally get everything where I want it... I'll take it outside and get some great pictures of things.

I love how you can see Otis napping in the background:)

There's still a lot of plants that I'd like to have..... and seeing as it's a quiet place to read- I'm thinking I'll need some books, too, lol.....

Until Next Time

My Birthday Present!

Wanna see what I bought myself this year for my Birthday?! Isn't he just purr-fect!! As soon as I saw him, I knew I had to have it! It reminds me so much of our orange kitties:) The plate is made by a Canadian artist named Barb Plevan and you can find her Etsy link here. I had it on my favorites list for a few weeks before I bought it, and prayed everyday that no one would see it....

Don't you just love the fact that the kitty has on a turquoise sweater! And I love the color combination she used! She has a couple of other plates, and from what I understand, when she can..... she's going to make more:) She does bunnies, too:) And some pretty cool looking fish! Stop by her store when you get a chance! If you're an animal lover like me, you won't be sorry:)

So..... Two words! SPRING Break!! I have a house full of kids, cats, and the bf! Nothing is getting done, lol.... But I am trying:) Be back later with some more pics!

Until Next Time!

2 Posts in One!

First! Let me start with my surprise that came in the mail Wednesday! I've been waiting on supplies to come, so when Cora handed me this little box, I was surprised to see that it was from 'Lataina'... One of our blog readers! She doesn't have a blog yet, But I'm working on that;)

Isn't it ALL just beautiful? From right to left..... That's a Mossy K! How smart.... and how Pretty! I Love moss.... then there is this little jug with a bird on a branch- I just love that little image! Next is the cake stand plate! I love the 'crystal' stand it's on! And then there was more moss- Moss Balls!!:) And she made this rusty holder that I decide to put it in! There's another one of those crystals! It all looks Fabulous to me!

And, as if that wasn't enough?! She made this cute little green bag! Perfect for my Beach inspired brain right now:) More on that later.........

You just don't know how surprised I was to receive such a special gift! Thank-You so much Lataina!

I also wanted to drop off some pictures of The Painted Lady... The Glass House... I rearranged some things so you could get a better look of how the shadow boxes would fit into a room....

Do you see how small some of those shells are.... in the bottom left corner, that yellow one is about the same size as the handle on the drawer. They were a pain to glue in. And Yes! Casey I tried tweezers.... I kept plinging the shells right out of its grip! Terrible! So I had use a tooth pick and a Lot of patience! Please excuse that gold bed post behind the turquoise candle... Looks silly in the pic if you ask me!

Also put my London sign in my shop.... One day it will go on the wall, but for now, I thought it was kinda fun it put it here..

And then stepping back... A full shot.... This is the house that will one day be in a fish tank... I need more room, and I want to hang those birdhouses and signs on the wall! And I need a place to put all those cabinets I've recently painted. One day I hope to put some of those kind of pieces in my Etsy shop too....

But not today.....

Today I must 'get to work'! I found a few pieces of molding so I am going to go see what I can make today............ Later, maybe tommorrow I will get to the Giveaway, and maybe a few other ideas I have....
....until next time

See what I mean...

I have run out of room in here! As much as I love this little house, It is just too small!! It's OK though...gives me an excuse to buy/find another house. One day..... when I find a bigger 'shop' this little glass house will house the wicker furniture Casey made for me....Until then, Casey's stuff is staying in the box- don't want the kitties to even see it....And I'll just keep dreaming of a bigger glass house.

I have so much stuff on the floor in here...I don't know how customers would even be able to walk around. Terrible!

The little birdhouses need to make it up on the wall..... so do all the signs I've made.

The big birdhouse (the one with the green roof) was a gift from Mercedes..... And so was the little nest to the left of the picture- on the candle stick. They are 2 of my favorite things:)

See the big K in the lower right corner of the pic? I just love that! The leafy stuff came from Ira, it's in a vase I bought at the dollhouse show.

The blue chair, and pillow and flowers were a gift from Jody (one day will someone please teach me how to make it so when you click on Jody's name it will take you to her site....please! It would make things so much easier:)!!

Also thought I'd show you the pic I made for my Etsy site..... I've gotten several requests for personal signs, and needed a pic to show that it was a custom order. I went with my blackberries as a back drop~ So me:) ......and speaking of the blackberries- It's crazy how many vines I have this year, that stuff has really settled in well. Wonder if I can try and make Jam this year...sounds fun?!

OK.... that's it for today. If you get a chance, stop by my store.... I just listed some benches that you might like:)
Until Next Time.....

A glimpse into my weekend.....

I had a totally kid free weekend, and wouldn't you know that I sat my butt on the couch all weekend! This is what I got done....
*I cut out little squares of material, folded them up, and put them into drawers/ baskets. I love the one with all the pinks:) Very girlie!! And look at those beautiful fabrics in the bottom drawer of the dresser...Those are from Ira in Finland....((And speaking of Ira, HAS ANYONE HEARD FROM HER??? I sure hope everything is OK!!))
.................Still need to figure out what to put into the top 3 drawers...... suggestions welcome!
*I painted the rest of the chess pieces..... Some days, you just feel like painting.....

*I also made some more signs..... I'm using a crackle medium with these.... And Luving it!! I'll take a better (close up) Picture of them when I'm done.

And then, since I haven't really posted any kitty pictures in awhile......And as any multiple cat owner knows how hard it is too get All the animals to sit together...I thought I'd show you the kitties....I had to bribe them with treats for this picture...... But they're all there......

Well........ That's about it for now..... I'm off to crackle some more signs.....
Until Next Time....

Got a Little of a Lot done......

Let's see....
I glued the shelves down on my metal rack........ And finally ended up getting the accessories to where I think I want them.... I have to tell you that one of my favorite pieces is in here...You see the Pisces's plate! I just Love the design on it......And No, I'm not a Pisces's...... I'm an Aries, but it was the only plate that the dollhouse store had, And my Bestest friend in the whole world is a Pisces's.....So I bought it:) As you can see I still have some room to fill............Just haven't figured out what will go there yet....

Then I put a white-wash of blue over the doors.....I thought it stood out to much, so I lightened it.....I like it much better this way:) I also went ahead and glued down the things on the door... The little Birdhouses came from Mercedes.... And all the 'things with wings' will be going on the other side. The dragonfly at the top was a charm from a jewelry catalog I had bought years ago. The cat I've had forever, too! It was a lapel pin.... And that last dragonfly was some kind of pendant. I had originally made them (well painted them white) for Katie's Corner (the pink room), but then ran out of room. I'm so glad I was able to finally use them:)

And here is where I'm at today.....Sorry about the plant, didn't realize it had tipped over until after I got the picture loaded. Again, I'm soooo glad I repainted those doors.... They fit in sooo much better now:)
Well, Alrighty then....... I've got errands to run today, but hopefully tonight, I can get just one more thing done:)
See Ya Next Time:)

Rearranging, and then Rearranging again....

Last night I aged the stuff I had painted white yesterday......I just dry brushed different colors onto what ever it was that I was painting.....The column is from a cake decorating set.....The candle sticks and finials are just wood pieces and buttons glued together and painted.

I just love how they turned out!

This morning I pulled the glass house out.....And Wouldn't you know that that dang piece of felt is about an inch too short!! *&$#*!!! Guess I'm gonna have to use it as a rug instead!

Then I put my thinking cap on and ended up using a piece of real floor tile. We still have a lot left over from when we did the hallway....so it shows up quite a bit. It's so easy to cut, and it's already sticky! You can find them at most home improvement stores...and I've even seen them (by the case) at the Dollar General, and Big Lots.....

Then I had to put everything...well a lot of it....back in and play with it. Just how many times can one reorganize a room before we finally like it??? LOL

And before I go....I just gotta share these with you!! Aren't they awesome...... :D
.....they're not miniature...but thought you'd like to see it anyways....

...OK......what else was there......

Finials....I've been trying to find things to use as finials and today, while looking through my Van Dyke's Restorers Catalog.... I found that they use finials on door hinges...and it got me to thinking that those might work, huh....So I'll have to look into that...No fancy door hinges in my house...Yes, I've already looked. ....and if you don't have above said catalog, I recommend getting one. There's sooooo many ideas for just about everything! Door straps, locks, ceiling tiles, furniture hardware....Like I said, lots of neat stuff to look out. I'm not sure about today....but I know I got this catalog for free a few years ago. It'd be worth checking it out.

....Someone asked about the signs....and thought I'd give you a quick tutorial...... Start with a Popsicles stick, and stamp your words onto it. Then cut it to size. Next... flip it over, and paint it what ever your base color is going to be. Let it dry. Then stamp your word(s) onto the painted side. Sand the edges....and then go back and ink those same edges...smudging is good....Smudging makes it look older.....let dry, And DON'T use hairspray to set it. I did this with my first set, and it made all my letters run. The bf said it only adds to the age/character of them, but me being a perfectionist, I had to redo all of them:)

Ok...That's it for today, I'm going to go rearrange the glass house a few more times, lol!

....OHH yeah! I remember now.......Whatcha think about me naming the glass house The Painted Lady?? I was listening to something the other day and they were talking about this row of houses called 'the painted ladies', and I really liked the name. It kinds of represents all the ladies who have painted/ and repainted things to be resold at 'this little boutique'......

Ok....I'm leaving for real this time.......
Until Next Time..........

The Hardest Part....

I been steadily filling up the glass house......Guess I need to name it sometime, huh?? Please excuse the mess, I'm still getting settled in here.....

Do you see the wire shelf on the right.....I sanded the shelves down and put a coat of wash-wash on them...Then I repainted the metal. Look familiar Mercedes??? You sent it to me over a year ago......

I also repainted the little chair in the front left corner.......

Do you see how much it stood out before (pic below)? I think it looks a lot better lighter (Pic above)!
......Sans! Do you see the cabinet in the front left corner? That's the same one you just put material in.....I made the mistake before of saying that my son had bought it for me, but We both know it came from Mercedes:)

So....I'm still trying to figure out how I want everything, for me this is the hardest part...... I'm good at making it, I just can't arrange it the way I want it. I love it when you see a dresser opened up, and clothes are falling out of it...... Just haven't figured out to achieve that look myself. Any suggestions?? **Oh, I did find the best eye-candy of a blog, Ever! It's exactly what I'm going for!! You should check it out~ http://trash2treasure.wordpress.com./

Until Next Time:)

Patience paid off Big Time!

A few weeks ago, I was in the thrift store and found this beautiful glass house. It was love at first sight!! Until I saw the price.....They wanted $24.92 for it, which isn't expensive.....it's just too much for my budget! So, I had to leave it there. Went back a week later and it was gone, and I was so upset! I kept telling myself that it just wasn't meant to be and that One day I'd find the perfect glass house. But wouldn't you know it......

It wasn't gone, they'd just moved it......and reduced it, Twice!! My beautiful glass house was now $6.98.......And coming home with me!!! I wasn't about to leave it again!!!

Oh, How do I love this little house!!! ((And as you can see, so do the kitties.....That's Wilbur inside the house.....And that's Otis trying to figure out how he got in there...)

And here's what I want to do with it........I want to make this room into what what a booth might look like at a flea market.... I've got lots of stuff to pile in here.... Just have to figure out how to set it up....And I need a whole bunch of sale tags to tie onto things......

The couch and metal table were a blog giveaway gift from Jody....
The big bird house on the dresser was a gift from Mercedes....
And I made the dresser, the 2 birdhouses on the floor and that blue 'screen' in the back.....It was the doors to a cabinet I had that I took of and added hinges to....

And
.....Look At What I found! Isn't it beautiful?? The colors are really bold, some how the camera has washed them away. But as soon as I saw it, I knew I needed it for my wall......So much inspiration~ From the gnome on the swing to those beautiful daisies! I just love it!!
