I Hate When That Happens!
Do you ever get into a project, to only realize, there at the very end, that you don't have enough to finish what you've started???
Yup! I ran out of shingles!! Ugggg! I only need about 30 more.......guess I'll have to wait till I can order another pack....Darn it, I was on a roll!!
Of course I decided not to listen to the bf, and started shingling from the inside out. (What? I wanted it even on both sides!) He had warned me....I know.....But, you know me, I gotta try it the hard way once, sometimes twice, lol! I still have to go back and add a little more stain to where I made fresh cuts. And I have to reinforce that corner. I swear, it looks like you could blow it away. (It's glued pretty good, but I don't think it will stand a chance to Otis.) I thought about putting Ivy, or something, up the sides..and then I could cover up the mess I've made outta that corner. I dunno.......I'm sure by the time I order more shingles, I'll figure it out!

I'm back...are you scared??
We got in late last night, and I now need a vacation from my vacation. Whew'
My Mother flew me and the kids to California for a family reunion this weekend. It was a very nice treat!! And on Friday, we took the kiddos to Disneyland!!! My kids had no clue they were going, we had wanted it to be a surprise. Disneyland is beautiful! Now, let me say thanks to my new eyes the dollhouse girls have given me, I found myself taking pictures of houses and not my kids. Bad Mom!! LOL~ I did get pictures of kids, but don't worry, I have lots of eye-candy to show you!!

And look at what was sitting on the coffee table when we got home last night!!!!!! OMG~ this thing is huge!!! And it's beautiful! The bf took it as far as he thought he should, that way I can start painting, without it being to much of a chore. So.......................when I get done resting from my Vacation, I guess I'm painting........Oh my~ I still need to finish Katie's Corner, and Drew's skate shop................so much to do!! And I love it!

Oh, I almost forgot. Meet Cindy. This little girl was rescued out of my Momma's cousin's pool, and has found a great home! Looks comfortable, doesn't she......Well, hope you enjoyed. I'll be back another day, with a few more pictures of what I picked up from Disney.
LMAO.....so way off the subject from clay, huh?? Well, just think of all the clay houses I could make from these pictures? HUm..........

One more for the road!
I had rather hoped that I would of gotten a lot further on this box than I did today. But, it seems that either someone or something has run off with my blue tape, or I have hid it on myself. Either one could be quite possible, lol. I originally wanted to put in a wood floor, but then opted for a much easier way. I knew I had seen a sheet of flooring at AC Moore's, so I went to check it out. They had several to choose from, but at almost $24 a sheet, I decided there had to be a cheaper way. I wanted light floors, and thought about cutting out squares of scrapbook paper, but again, too time consuming for me......and then it came to me, CORK. You can buy a 12x24in sheet of it for $2.99......Now that's what I'm talking about. And, you know, I really like it! I put a coat of varnish on it, and will probably put on a few more . I have all the baseboards and moulding ready to go, now if I could just find that darn tape................
***I say 'One more for the road', because tommorrow I'm going on vacation. My first real vacation with my kids, and I can't wait!! But, don't worry......I'll be back in a week, with lots of pictures to share! But, for now, I must turn off the computer, put away all my supplies~don't want Otis eating them while I'm gone~ and I must say ..........until next time.
Goodbye Cora's House
Well, Cora's first house has now found a new home, in the trash. Honestly, I have spent many of nights, wondering how I could fix and transform this house into something great, it just never happened. And besides, we needed to make room for her new house.

Here she is 'man-handling' it, and trying to pull the second floor off.

Oh, the poor little house............

..but wait..............stay tuned..............a new house is in the process of being built.

More Paperclay today...
Today, I played some more with the paper clay. First let me tell you a little lesson I have learned about paper clay. It shrinks...just a little bit, but enough to say you should over lap things a little more than you think....I now have gaps in between the bricks and the stones...ugg!! OK...so, today I did the wood work out of paperclay. Easy enough.....laid out a 'board' of clay and scored lines into it to look like wood. I also painted all the bricks off-white. To the right of the picture you can see what will become the front door.
I added my first coat of brown to the wood. After seeing how good the boards look, I really wished I have left the bricks brick colored! But, too late for that.
I put the door in the frame so you could get an idea of what it might look like. Who knows what will come of it...I don't know~ lol...I'm just exploring the use of paperclay. So far I like it.
Oh...and BTW, today I used a little tacky glue first, before applying the paperclay to the foamboard.....and it stayed in place a lot better!

RIP Cora's house
Due to some new medicine, this week hasn't been very productive. I have been working on some small projects, but have not worked on Katie's Corner or the Halloween cafe.......BTW~ the cafe needs a name~ any ideas out here?? And then this past week, Cora's house finally took a turn for the worst. Due to the fact that our 'healthy' cat likes to sit on it, he has finally managed to cave the roof in. Over the weekend, I tried to glue it back together, but due to the old glue and the dust bunnies, I wasn't very successful.

I finally just ripped the whole roof off, and walked away. I really don't want to trash this house! It just needs some.....OK, a LOT of TLC. I think I may strip it down, and see what I have left.....if I can, I'd like to save it and turn it into a haunted house or something~ that's if I can find room around here to store it??? Cora will get a new house~ I just have to order it, Oh, then build it....lol........

Where the shop will live...
Today, the last piece of roof ledge was glued down. Once it drys, I will have to go back and support it a little more. Still gotta figure out how to do a thatched roof. But, first, I have to finish the outside boards and rock work. Yes, this little room box has a long way to go.

I thought I'd include a picture of my work desk. LOL, I don't think I have ever actually worked at my desk, I much perfer the couch! But, everything I used gets stored here. Well most of it.....some of my things have found their way into other parts of the house.....and everything gets shifted to whatever room I decide to work in. I can honestly say I don't think I have anything stored in the bathroom.....oh, wait~ that's where the iron lives~ and Yes, I only use it to craft....won't even tell you the last time I ironed something to actually wear. I couldn't live live without my art clutter.........It makes me , ME!

Oh, the whole point of this blog is to explain, that one day, I'm going to have to claen off the top of my desk, so my little shop has a place to live.

Some things for The Pink Bedroom
I figured my room was going to need some storage, so I made these. The shoeboxes I got from a pattern, and the long boxes will go under the bed, I made with my own pattern. I even made a square box, but don't know what's going to live there yet. Do you see the big art supply box, I opened it so you could see all the supplies in there.

I love these......I found this printie online, and I love it! Every big girl's bedroom needs a Victoria Secret's bag, right? And Jungle Undies?? (Google Jungle undies and/or mishellyzoo to find them)

Oh, and I repainted the bedroom a much lighter pink, and painted the ceiling white. I think it looks better. I'm still thinking I should paint the trim white, too.......time will tell.

And of course.....the teddy bears I made out of polymer clay. Ok, I know, they are not ALL bears, but you get the idea. The pink ones will go in the bedroom; I've got to take a better picture of the bunny, she's hiding in the back. The brown ones got burnt in the toaster over~ but everyone said it adds character.

And the material I bought to redo the bed. I'd really like to either make a quilt or pay someone to do it for me. Me and the sewing machine bump heads, and I'd really love a patchwork quilt!! It's one of those things I know I can do, but really don't want to, ya know??

The Attic
My carpenter cut out my roof this weekend. Then, he thought, for only a minute though, that this was his house, and it took me a minute to convince him otherwise. I so need to buy him his own house, then maybe I can keep him out of mine! But, I'm so happy to have the help!!
Here, I have applied plaster to the wall....
And painted it a horrible pink~ Yes, I gotta find a better pink...needs to be much lighter. The upstairs probally could of used a window or two...Oh, well......mabye next time.
