I should of never asked.

Someone please tell Otis that 5:30a.m. is NOT a reasonable time to eat breakfast. Do you believe that he got into the dollhouse, and started knocking things out, until I got up?! And now that he's all fat and happy, he's napping!

Well, the skateshop is coming along GREAT!! First I had to take off all those skateboards I glued on yesterday.....and use some better adhesive. Aleene's tacky glue was not strong enough. I went ahead and used the sticky stuff that came with the clips~ duh!! Worked a whole lot better! Then I arranged all the 'posters'......and even put a couple on the right wall.
I finally glued in all the skateboards. Well, at least all the skateboards that I started out to hang. I may add some more.
I made the mistake of asking the bf..."What do you think"................LOL............I shoulda known he'd try and take over....Back off.......it's my house! ............. What's that you say? It's Drew's shop? .........................Ohh..........Even made some skate magazines..........
Well it's back to the grind......
Gotta turn some sandpaper into grip tape, paint some trucks, and add tons of tiny stickers.

Another pencil sharpener

Every year, I take my 2 older kids to West Va for summer camp. This year, we stopped by the Va Safari Park. It's a drive thru zoo, and we had a blast feeding and petting all the animals. As you can see, the zebra stuck his whole head in the car looking for a snack.
The kids go to a special camp for kids with asthma...this year the theme is Christmas in July
And the camp is in Jackson's Mill........that's the mill across the pond. I took this picture last year, but it's one of my favorite pictures.....so I thought I'd share.
They have a little general store on the grounds.......and I found a miniature!! It's some kind of loom for making wool.........And for the Otis fans..........See how he's sleeping? When I first walked in the room, all I could see was his feet hanging out...and looked like something bad had happened.............He was sleeping so hard, it took me a couple of minutes to wake him up~ Crazy Kitty!

Well, I'm taking a break today, but will be back soon with something crafty!

Where the shop will live...

Today, the last piece of roof ledge was glued down. Once it drys, I will have to go back and support it a little more. Still gotta figure out how to do a thatched roof. But, first, I have to finish the outside boards and rock work. Yes, this little room box has a long way to go.

I thought I'd include a picture of my work desk. LOL, I don't think I have ever actually worked at my desk, I much perfer the couch! But, everything I used gets stored here. Well most of it.....some of my things have found their way into other parts of the house.....and everything gets shifted to whatever room I decide to work in. I can honestly say I don't think I have anything stored in the bathroom.....oh, wait~ that's where the iron lives~ and Yes, I only use it to craft....won't even tell you the last time I ironed something to actually wear. I couldn't live live without my art clutter.........It makes me , ME!

Oh, the whole point of this blog is to explain, that one day, I'm going to have to claen off the top of my desk, so my little shop has a place to live.

The Attic

My carpenter cut out my roof this weekend. Then, he thought, for only a minute though, that this was his house, and it took me a minute to convince him otherwise. I so need to buy him his own house, then maybe I can keep him out of mine! But, I'm so happy to have the help!!

The top has been glued and in the process of being attached to the house.

Here, I have applied plaster to the wall....And painted it a horrible pink~ Yes, I gotta find a better pink...needs to be much lighter. The upstairs probally could of used a window or two...Oh, well......mabye next time.

The dollhouse for the dollhouse

This is the dollhouse that I built to go in my daughters dollhouse. I also made all the furniture.

Books for the dollhouse

The bookcase that will go in the back corner of the store~there is one store bought book on the bottom shelf.....a dictonary- it doesn't open like mine do though. Yes, After making that back shelf for the dollhouse, I decided that it needed books. I made one with a polymer clay binding, and I liked it. It is bigger than I'd like though, so I'll have to work on it. The rest I made out of scrapbook paper and preprinted words. I copied the first chapter of the books and played around with the size until I liked it. I printed these pages in columns, making it easier to put them together. I still have a lot of books to do, but for now.....I am rather over it. At least I got all the books for the bookcase done!

For the doll house

I'm glad I used to pay attention when my Mom made wreaths. These aren't very big. One will go on the back wall, and the swag will go above the door.
I even made a few birdhouses. One has a sticker, the other a rub on transfer.

The bookcase

I built this bookcase to run the entire lengh of the wall. Then I realized that there was no way that the dolls could reach the top shelf, so I built a ladder. One day I'll figure out how to put rollers on it. Here the bookcase has been painted,
And the baseboards were added. Oh, and there is the owner of the shop....

The floors go in

See my mess. Here I have my hard wood floors in the process of going in my house. Well, it's not really 'hard wood', it's actually bosa wood. The floor really brings the box together!
All done.....now it just needs a base board and crown molding....

The Begining of the house

When I started making food for my daughter's dollhouse, I made a few extras for myself, or maybe it was the other way around, LOL. Either way, here is what I am doing with mine.

After making the food I realized I needed somewhere to put it, and what better way then building my own little box. I have big plans for this box. I even had to take a break for a few days to get my ideas together.....I had too many ideas. So after gluing the box together, I began to create......piece by piece

This is table is made out of bosa wood. It will be the main piece in the room.

Do you see the table in the box?? Oh yeah, and I have started to paint the walls, I also used plaster to give the walls texture.

The window and the door were installed by friend, they came premade from the craft store.
Welcome.......the outside of the house still needs a lot of work!
It's called apricot.......I love the color!
