Busy Work....

I just can't tell you how much I appreciate these printies! Yesterday I received an envelope in the mail all the way from Hawaii! Tara at http://dollhouseatpoohcorner.blogspot.com/ sent me a handful of printies!!! LOL...Betcha can guess what I did last night! Yup! Sat on the couch and cut almost all of them out. Still have to find my 'little' scissors~Cause these Big ones are killing my hands! I'll have to interrogate the kids later as to where they could be, lol!

Let's see, I did manage to get the 'wood' part of the windows painted their base color. I started with Espresso brown, and will work into the lighter shades, lol...when I get up the confidence to do so. Does this happen to you, You'll put off doing something, because you're afraid of messing it up, ....Only to finish it at a later date, to only wonder why you made such a big deal about it in the first place, Haha??? Sometimes you just gotta do it!!!


And last but not least, We have the fat cat, Um, I mean Otis, napping in the crack between the cushions on the couch.....Doesn't he look cozy!!!

Books, books, and more books...

I came across this amazing artist last night, and when I saw the pictures, I thought, How perfect for the critters.....Her name is Jill Barklem....maybe you have seen some of her books? They look really familiar to me, maybe I even read some as a child. But her art work is Amazing.....

*Ok, so Casey asked me if I was done prinite-ing.....And my answer is Nope!! I haven't ran out of ink yet!! LOL...I made a few more books for the nursery last night~ This first book was one I had when I was little....and the day I brought my oldest home from the hospital, I found a brand new copy of it laying his bassinet!

And then there's this book........I still can't read this book without crying....

And then there's this one that I used to read to my son when he was little.....

And the last book is one I fell in love with as a little girl....I will get back to this book another day, and show you some pictures.....It's another one that was meant to be done in miniature!!

.....I also found a great calender to hang on Cora's fridge!! Look Mercedes.... it has bumble bees on it!! (Don't worry, I printed one out for you too!!) I choose June because Cora's birthday is in June~ She'll be 12 this year! Isn't it cute??

Oh....and I also went back and got 'the Grandparents' last night. I'll post a picture later......but I knew if I waited they'd be gone.....Now they're sitting in the house, waiting to be opened....

Printies are very addicitive!

Thought I'd show you what I've been working on for the past couple of days.....First we have some artwork for Cora's kitchen.....these will be hung next to the stairs.

Last night I went to that website Casey sent me to~ You can find the link in the comments of my last blog.......And printed out some games. I printed out 3 Monopoly games....my father used to collect these, had them in 20 different languages, until my Mom donated them to the High School while he was out to sea once......LOL, She was in one of her cleaning moods, and Dad had soooooo many board games. I bet he still wishes he had them....So in memory of my father.....Cora gets lots of Monopoly games!

Then I found some food printies...Poor Cora's fridge is empty, so I thought I'd make her some stuff.....LOL.....I'm a little stuck on these milk cartons though, lol...I'll have to play with that some more today. I know How to fold them, it just wouldn't work for me last night, haha. Oh...and there's some books for the nursery. See that box of cream cheese in the middle....it's so tiny!! I LOVE Cream Cheese!!!!

This next picture is something I'm working on for Sylvia.... She's doing a beach house, and I told her I would send her some sea shells....but I just can't send one thing: So Sylvia...if you reading this, would like to have any or all of these 'nautical' prints??? The one in the middle is a sailor and a mermaid, and the two on the outside are of 'sailors'. (They're not finished yet......still have to be glued down.)

I also printed out this activity center box to go in the nursery.....and there's also a little pineapple house print I found.

I also made some beach magazines......

And the last picture is of the kitties again.....They're still on the couch~ Lazy, lazy, lazy!! And today, Otis is using Pocus as a foot rest.....Doesn't he look sooooo comfortable!! Haha

There's a couple of questions tucked away in here...

So....I finally got around to hooking up my new printer this weekend. I had been putting it off because I never have any luck with appliances! It took me 4 hours of pushing a lot of buttons, and this sign kept popping up that said, "Error, please restart computer".....Ugg. I finally gave up! Then for some reason, I figured I'd just try to print something, and see what it did....And it worked! I was dumb founded!! Still don't understand what happened...but I know I can blame it on myself....That's why I don't mess with anything electrical....lol......

Anyways....here's what I've done so far......
Some prints for the nursery. I still need to build frames....and I think they are a little too big, so I'm not sure if I want to make some smaller ones or not....

These next 2 prints will go on the back wall of the nursery. I just cut out the picture, glued it onto a piece of scrap-book paper...then glued that onto a square of balsa wood. Then I coated the whole thing with a sealer. *I decided to go with Beatrix Potter prints to match the bunny growth chart that MiniKat sent me....Just have to figure out how to hang that growth chart~ Any suggestions??

Then I found some magazines online, and printed them out for Cora.....Lots of stuff with Bella and one with Taylor Swift....The 'True Love' and 'Vague' ones are made up magazine that I found.

I've also started printing out some of the things for The Star Wars Toy Store.......When I first hooked up the printer, I realized I only had 2 sheets of picture paper left.....Not sure as to the brand, but it was some good stuff. (The Star Wars ones were printed on the paper I had left....and the magazines I printed for Cora are on the new paper...Can you see the difference??) So, Sunday I went and bought myself a pack of no name brand paper....and well~ it's not working for printies......To hard to fold, but great for prints. I used regular printer paper to do the Twilight book, and it was really simple to fold, but the image isn't as strong as it could be.....So, Here's my other question: What kind of paper works best? I want something easy to fold....and something that won't smear! I do like that Post-it paper Tara uses, but haven't been able to find any......

Anyways.....here's a bunch of magazines, books, coloring books, Mad Lids, Iron on Transfer books....Oh, and a cookbook: LMAO! It's called the The Star Wars Cookbook~ on how to make 'Wookie Cookies'.....Hahahaha! Too cute! ......Now I need to start thinking of how to build a book rack for the toy store!

And last but not Least! We have Otis and Pocus cuddling......He was asleep before he heard the camera turn out, and had his foot wrapped around her head....They slept there all night...got up for breakfast....and now they're back on the couch again....lol! Lazy kitties!!!

I also got a package in the mail yesterday from Tara at http://dollhouseatpoohcorner.blogspot.com/. She sent me the most detailed printies I have ever seen! See the red cake box? It's a pineapple cake mix~ How cool is that? She sent me 3 of them!!!

Here's a picture of all my goodies......There's girlie stuff in the upper right corner. And in the left upper corner is a bowl of seeds (to be used in my picnic scenes?!), and then there's a white pitcher! I love pitchers!! She sent me all kinds of printies to fold up and glue. And those 3 pineapple cake mix boxes that she folded, glued, and filled (With salt?)....makes the boxes feel real! I emailed her last night and told her thank-you for giving me something creative to do. It has been a long week, and my muse has gone on vacation??? ....It was nice to have something easy to make!! There's even a bunch of tiny stickers that I will let Cora use to add 'magnets' to the fridge.....

There's just one more picture I want to share with you before I leave ya........I went in the kitchen last night to get a drink of water....in the dark mind you.....when this thing started moving......Scared me to death! LOL.....Until I realized it was just Otis' tail!! Silly Kitty! You're not suppose to be in there!!! ~Oh, you like my green splotch? I thought, only for a moment though, that I wanted to paint the kitchen this color....then I changed my mind.......That was a couple of summers ago, lol.

Easier than I thought!

OK, I've figured out what this stuff is called~ It's vinyl tile, at least that is what was on my sales receipt when I bought the 'wood' ones this weekend. Can you believe they were on clearance for 75 cents each???
I'm going to use the 'wood' ones to do the parents bedroom. I've only put one tile in here, so you can get an idea of what it will look like when I'm done. They're sticky tiles, and very easy to cut! Then, as I was giving the kids the last of the Caprisun's, I decided to try and see if I could shrink it. I took it outside, broke the box down flat, then took a picture. I came inside and loaded the picture into my PhotoImpact Pro program and took it in the print preview page and shrunk it down to the size I wanted.
I printed it out, then cut it out........turned out pretty well, huh! Feel free to copy the above picture into your print program and play! Good Luck!

Some things for The Pink Bedroom

I figured my room was going to need some storage, so I made these. The shoeboxes I got from a pattern, and the long boxes will go under the bed, I made with my own pattern. I even made a square box, but don't know what's going to live there yet. Do you see the big art supply box, I opened it so you could see all the supplies in there.



I love these......I found this printie online, and I love it! Every big girl's bedroom needs a Victoria Secret's bag, right? And Jungle Undies?? (Google Jungle undies and/or mishellyzoo to find them)





Oh, and I repainted the bedroom a much lighter pink, and painted the ceiling white. I think it looks better. I'm still thinking I should paint the trim white, too.......time will tell.


And of course.....the teddy bears I made out of polymer clay. Ok, I know, they are not ALL bears, but you get the idea. The pink ones will go in the bedroom; I've got to take a better picture of the bunny, she's hiding in the back. The brown ones got burnt in the toaster over~ but everyone said it adds character.


And the material I bought to redo the bed. I'd really like to either make a quilt or pay someone to do it for me. Me and the sewing machine bump heads, and I'd really love a patchwork quilt!! It's one of those things I know I can do, but really don't want to, ya know??
