Remember, she wanted Red! Well, this is my compromise......A red bookcase. I painted it black first then went back and painted the sides red...I tried to use a crackle finish, but for some reason it didn't work the way I had envisioned it....Oh well...it still turned out pretty good. Then I realized that the white table set would never do.......
So, I spray painted it black. Now.....I'm a little confused here, I did both chairs at the same time, with the same can of spray paint, and yet the one on the left has a matte finish and the one on the right is shiny???? Can someone, Please, explain why? LOL...Strange!
I've set up a mock room here, using a piece of scrapbooking paper as a background....The bf donated the 2 Buddha's out of his collection, I'd love to turn one of them into a little reading lamp. And the little red bowl on the bookcase and the big one in the bottom right were both made by me using scrap polymer clay.
Here's a close up of the dishes that Cora fell in love with and the inspiration for the room. The background color in this picture is more of what I want to paint the actual sitting room.

Everything looks really good! I am at a loss to explain why one chair is gloss and the other isn't. I've never had that happen before.
Good Compromise Katie. Does Cora like it? I have no idea way one is matt and one is shiny.
This looks fantastic. I really liked the white furniture, I love the change you made to it.
I'm not sure why your finishes turned out like that. You could always throw a little polyuethane over it all and even it out.
this is lovely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks great! I also can not explain the chairs. I guess it was meant to be!
