Here the joint compound is still wet......I was finishing up the left side.
Then this morning, I decided to add sand. I had a bag of black sand left over from another project, so in it went. I used this mixture to do the street...it looks gray, but is drying white. I like how it looks, and think I may go back over the whole house with this mixture...maybe. First I want to paint to two different areas, and see which one looks better. I'm thinking the sand mixture is, but if I can get away with the house like it is, then I will....I'm ready to paint!!
Here's a close up of the door jam......I'll probably do the floor on the inside of the house the same way......
Even took it out in the yard for a picture....I'm thinking when it's done I need to take it to the beach for a really neat picture...Either that or I need to find a kid with a big sandbox!!!

Now that is looking really good. You are so clever!

This is the hard part: wait for drying! I never wait enough!
This is just very cool. Can't wait to watch it evolve!
Katie, it is looking good. If you don't like the cracks when you are finished you can always stuff them with more joing compound and dry again. I kind of like them.It makes the building more interesting and not so new looking.
Wow you've done loads Katie.can't wait to see it finished..
Wow this look really professional! Love Chewie! Brings back lovely memories of when I was a child making the hoth planet on the dinning room table with polystyrene! I had a Chewbacca doll with C3P0 in a net on his back! I thought he was the coolest figure ever ha ha! Happy Days! :-)
That is looking fantastic!
I love it. Agrees too that cracks are good. I am trying to age my minis all the time so if I were you, I will keep the cracks. I think you are lucky to get them !
