I also picked up one of the furniture kits from Michael's.....at $4.99 a set!! There's so many pieces in here, it's crazy, but I more or less just wanted to have something to look at, as a size reference. The bf says everything in the house has to be handmade~ Like the Rabbits actually did it them self.....I think he is right! So, here's a bed from the kit.....the grandparents barely fit...but If I lie them on their sides, it works....
Then I started playing around with the living room and kitchen furniture. Just needed a idea of what I actually wanted, and what better way to do it then use 'stand-ins'!! I love that little sink on the back way. It even has a stove, cabinets, and a microwave? up top. I'm not going to use this one~ I know I can build a better one if I try..... it's more or less an idea. Oh...and the little green stools will Not stay green...You'll have to wait till I get done with them.....Cora had the best idea!!!
Once I got the couch built, it dawned on me that I had a couch and chair stashed away that are about the same size. I've had these for as long as I can remember....They're probably one of my oldest toys around here.....They're stamped with 1980 Mattel on the bottom. I really hate to paint them, because I've had them this way for so long...But If I want to use them in this house...they're going to need a new coat of paint. Someone suggested to me last night that I paint them with like a strawberry....thought that was a cute idea. Like I always say...time will tell.
I like this table the best, but it seems a little too big.... I want to make one from wood that looks like this and another small one to use as the coffee table. I'll have to go find pictures of what I'm talking about....

I went to sleep last night with my head hurting from all the ideas I got! LOL....First I HAVE to finish the outside......then I can start the inside.
I must say that life is starting to get a little complicated over here! Thank God I have this hobby to keep my head on straight! I'd so much rather be in the land of make-believe than in the land of the real world!!!! OK....I'm off to blog about 'my other life'.
Talk to you later :)

Love the berries and ferns for the outside. As for as summer flowers go... how about a shasta daisy or black-eyed sussans?
I really love that blue of the little chair set up agains the red! The contrast is really eye-popping.. I know you said you were gonna brown the walls a little bit too but I think the blue will still pop beautifully! -ara
I love those pics of the real size flowers along the houses too! Maybe some lily of the valley would be cute with the berries and ivy and ferns? Jack in the pulpit would be cool- but I don't think I have ever seen any in artificial flowers. This house is going to be so cute! Hope your real life gets better this week. Big hug!!!
Love the vintage furniture, lucky you to still have it!

I feel the same as MiniKat. I think that daisies are the best flower because you find them everywhere in the summer. In fields or formal gardens - they fit in anywhere and in fantasy, they are also used a lot and make great umberellas for sunshades. Black eyed susans would also have been one of my choices as well.
I picked up the furniture too with another 40% coupon. I'm trying to keep this project super cheap!
This is turning out to be so much more fun than I imagined.
