My African Mom doll

Ok, OK, I know this isn't a miniature, or clay, but I just had to share this with you.....

My Step-dad recently brought me back this doll from Africa. She is hand carved out of some kind of wood, and BEAUTIFUL! It is a Mother figure carrying her baby in one hand, and her basket in the other. She stands about 2 feet tall, and is very, very slender. I wish I could capture the detail with my camera for you to see how amazing she honestly is! A close up of her face.....see how long her neck is.....I can almost imagine how hard that must of been to carve: it's as thin as a pencil!
I wish I had some more of these baskets!! They'd be great in Katie's Corner! Look at how well it's made, again.....all hand done!
I just can't get over how neat she is. I have always have an interest in dolls, but this one tops my favorites!
